that's it. the last day of summer has been and gone and the fog has rolled in for autumn. i picked the last of our old big fat french beans (and podded them with a glass of wine) they're a variety called "cherokee trail of tears" - we've never let them get big before but they have been spectacular.
Tonight i'm going to make a cassoulet sussex style - recipe will follow tomorrow!
we podded and sat and listened to laurent garnier playing on french radio - and tried hard to understand!
